Dying to Vote, a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Loki Mulholland examines America’s long and painful history of voter intimidation, culminating in the events of January 6th. The film highlights the story of Vernon Dahmer, a Mississippi civil rights leader who was murdered for helping Black Americans register to vote. Featuring Vernon’s son, Dennis Dahmer; Congressman Bennie Thompson, Chair of the January 6th Committee; and narrated by acclaimed actor Gregory Alan Williams, Dying to Vote captures the courage and resilience of those who fought—and continue to fight—for our right to vote.
